Together we can honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes — military, veterans, first responders and their families through Carry the Load. Remember, honor, and celebrate our nation's heroes by participating in the event and raising funds to support organizations which help heroes and their families.  I plan to participate in the Dallas March event activities on Memorial Day, this May 28-29, 2023.  Please stop by the BBBS booth if you can attend in person to support us, learn about BBBS or donate.  And, Bob is marching during the 20 hour march, all night (I'll only walk for a couple miles on Monday), so if you're on site please say hello to him too.

The goal of Military Mentoring is to provide children of military families with evidence-based, professionally-supported one-to-one mentoring services. These services allow the children to work through or avoid the challenges common to military children including the stress associated with parental re-integration or loss that can impact the child in many areas, limiting academic success; social/emotional interactions; and behavioral progress. 

BBBS provides positive, lasting impact to the community through the nations' oldest and most respected, evidence-based one-to-one mentoring program. Mentors or 'Bigs' are asked to meet with their 'Littles' 2 to 4 times per month, sharing activities both enjoy at school or in the community. Most important, matched pairs share formative conversation in which the children share their concerns and mentors provide the advice and inspiration to help them with their needs and pursue success. In the Military Mentoring Program children of military personnel are matched with a volunteer mentor that has an understanding of the lifestyle of our armed service families, whether that means they are a veteran themselves or have similar experiences.

Together, we can make a difference. Funds that we raise will "roll up" to the team total.
