SUDS USA
We're honored to be a Non-Profit Partner with Carry The Load where all funds raised by SUDS go directly to our organization!
Servicemembers Undertaking Disabled Sports (SUDS) was established in February of 2007 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. The program is for service members who have a permanent physical disability requiring adaptation. The program is run by a dedicated staff of volunteers who are passionate about helping our service members learn about adventure sports. Our staff are dedicated to the Mission and over half of all our Board Members are former military.
SUDS helps improve the lives of wounded, injured and ill service members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. By training the warriors in a challenging and rewarding activity, they are benefited in their rehabilitation and mobility is improved. Offering a connection to adaptive and adventurous sports, such as SCUBA diving, hiking, skiing, and rock climbing, provides the warrior with a passion they can enjoy during their rehabilitation and throughout their lives, giving them hope, purpose and a sense of accomplishment!
