Carry The Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active ways to honor and celebrate our nation's heroes by connecting Americans to the sacrifices made by military, veterans, first responders, and their families. We are excited that Carry the Load has selected Merging Vets and Players as a partner for this year's event!
This year I will complete my leg of Carry the Load from Peru. Along with a team of my partner and two brothers, we will travel over eight days and about 74 miles with a little over 22,000 ft elevation gain and an almost 19,000 ft elevation loss as we complete the Choquequirao Trek to Machu Picchu.
I'm doing this trek for myself because after getting a second lease on life, I made a promise never to stop adventuring and seeking out new challenges. I'm doing this trek for the ones I lost. As long as we say their names, their memory lives on, and their sacrifices will not be forgotten. It is our responsibility to go on living for the ones who never made it home. This hike is dedicated to Dae Ho "Josh," Richey, Aurora, Greg, Jenny, and their families.
