It is with great honor to announce that this will be the 3rd year for me to be walking in the National Relay for Carry the Load. This year I will be returning to my original and Carry the Load’s 5th relay. The New England Relay stepping off from Burlington, Vermont starting May 1st and arriving back in Dallas on May 26th joining the other 4 relays who have walked from different starting points throughout the month of May covering 20,000 miles and walking in, kicking off the opening ceremony of the Dallas Memorial March. The Dallas Memorial March continues throughout the day and night walking Katy Trail ending with closing ceremonies at 11:30 am on Memorial Day.
I will be walking in honor of the 92 officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting the citizens of Dallas along with Msgt. Kenneth Mack who I served with in the Marine Corps and In memory of my father who served in the Airforce; along with all other First Responders and US Military who has served and gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Carry the Load Is a Non-Profit Organization of the $42.0 Million raised since 2011, 93% goes towards three programs: Awareness, Continuum of Care and Education.
Since its inception Assist the Officer has been one of its Non-Profit Partners. Both are near and dear to my heart. As Assist the Officer helps many First Responders in Texas daily. When a first responder is injured, a setback can bring financial ruin – especially if the first responder is the sole provider for a family. During recovery, the last thing a first responder should have to worry about is how he or she will make ends meet. First Responders on a daily basis observe and assist citizens in some of the worst case scenarios. Assist the Officer provides counseling for first responders and their families. There are hundreds of first responders and their families that need your assistance. The Assist the Officer Foundation is here to help.
In 2023
- 156 Families were helped,
- $151,408 was provided in financial assistance,
- 18 different agencies were served,
- 521 clients were provided counseling for a cost of $261,875.
Assist the Officer could not have provided this without your donation and Partners like Carry the Load who continues to help Assist the Officer meet their needs.
This will be a long ruck(walk) honoring first responders and military personnel!!! Please find it in your heart to donate. No amount is too small…Every penny counts.
